Honestly, I had to take a second look at this picture to verify that it really is a picture of the Moon! I’m not sure what you think, my first thought was it’s the Sun.

Jerónimo Losada captured this amazing photo of the Moon from the roof of his house in Seville, Spain. He used a Canon EOS 60D camera and EF 75-300 lens at 300mm.

The Moon?! I thought it was a superimposition, after initial befuddlement. It almost appeared an artistic Sun-image placement over an evening photo. Has an unreal atmosphere — but pleasing to the eye.

That’s a long duration photo (star trails, cloud movement). The moon was overexposed, and most of the “texture” on the moon’s surface is from clouds passing over the moon while the shutter was open.

It’s a really interesting effect. I’m going to see if I can take a similar one next time conditions allow. Great pic:).

Also, as of 13/01/2012, the formatting on this page is really borked.

Great! I took a similar photo a few years ago in Seville too!
