Was Brian the Discovery Bat Just a Diversion by NASA?

With all the attention focused on Brian the Discovery bat, did everyone possibly miss this? I sense perhaps the bat was just NASA's way of diverting our attention from more serious problems.

Nancy Atkinson is a space journalist and author with a passion for telling the stories of people involved in space exploration and astronomy.
