Cincinnati

  • 5274 Zion Rd - 8:30 pm, August 23 - View MARS with the Cincinnati Astronomical Society as the red planet makes its closest approach to earth in 60,000 years. More info
  • Cincinnati - August 27 - September 13 - The Cincinnati Observatory Center is offering both viewings of and classes on Mars through mid-September. Some events are free and some events will have a minimum charge. PLease check out web site for more information and contact us for reservations. More info

Cleveland

  • Schuele Planetarium - 8:30 pm, August 27, 9/6, 9/13 9/20, 9/27 - Mars, Uranus & Neptune, as well as many other objects! More info

Columbus

  • COSI Columbus - 9:00 pm, August 29 - Members of the Columbus Astronomical Society will have telescopes set up for Mars viewing during this free event!

Dayton

  • Boonshoft Museum of Discovery - 10:00 pm, August 22 - Look through the MVAS's large 20" Diameter Dall-Kirkham Cassegrain telescope, open to the public. Many smaller instruments will be available for views as well. Please note that Mars does not get high enough for excellent viewing until around 12:00 midnight local time. More info

  • Schoonover Observatory - Dusk, Aug 22, 26/27, 29, Sep 5 - Public Observing at Schoonover Observatory starting at dusk. On Aug 26, dusk to dawn, otherwise only until everyone goes home - usually shortly after midnight. Everyone welcome! More info
