GENESIS LAUNCH DELAYED AGAIN ------------------------- Still concerned that problems with a faulty power supply might affect the Genesis spacecraft, NASA controllers have decided to push the launch back another day to Wednesday. Once further tests have been completed, Genesis is expected to launch on board a Boeing Delta II rocket from Cape Canaveral at 1631 GMT (12:31pm EDT). Once in space, Genesis will travel to the L1 Lagrange point and collect particles from the solar wind and return them to Earth in 2004. Voting shortly after midnight EDT, the House approved the spending bill 336-for to 89-against. The budget will continue to fund the US portion of the International Space Station. The bacteria was detected at an altitude of 41 kilometres using a balloon which gathered and marked samples as it descended. The samples are so high up, Earth-borne bacteria couldn't reach that altitude normally, so the team believes it must come from outer space. In fact, they believe hundreds of kilograms of biological material is raining down on the Earth every day.
