Atlantis touched down at 0339 GMT Wednesday morning (11:39 EDT Tuesday night) to complete mission STS-104. During their 12+ days in orbit, the shuttle astronauts installed a $164 million airlock to the International Space Station which will simplify future spacewalks. They believe that aliens may try to contact us by flashing a powerful laser beam at our star. Although this isn't the first time this technique, known as optical SETI, has been used, it's the most sophisticated and comprehensive search ever undertaken.
