NASA ASTRONAUT DIES FROM PLANE CRASH
-------------------------
NASA astronaut Patricia Hilliard Robertson died earlier this week from injuries she sustained in a fiery plane crash that occurred on Tuesday - Patricia suffered 2nd and 3rd degree burns on 90% of her body. She had yet to fly in space, but was assigned as a crew support astronaut for the Expedition Two crew, and worked as a liaison for the station crew. A private tree planting ceremony for her family is planned for Tuesday.

NASA RELEASES NEW IMAGES OF THE "FACE" ON MARS
-------------------------
Nearly 25 years after the Viking 1 orbiter produced an image of a mysterious face on Mars, NASA has photographed the area again using the higher resolution cameras on the Mars Global Surveyor, providing conclusive evidence that it's just a hill after all. Scientists at the space agency know that this latest release will probably be seen as propaganda, and a further cover up.

SHUTTLE LAUNCH DELAYED BY TILE PROBLEMS
-------------------------
NASA has pushed back the launch of the space shuttle Atlantis until at least June 20th, because of wet thermal protection tiles. Originally scheduled to launch June 14th, the tiles were soaked when the shuttle was exposed to the rain after landing at Edwards Air Force Base. If they aren't properly dried, the water in the tiles will freeze in orbit, and they could break off on reentry.

NASA APPROVES DEEP IMPACT MISSION
-------------------------
Sometime in 2005, a minivan-sized spacecraft will collide with comet Temple 1 at almost 36,000 kph and excavate a football field-sized hole - on purpose. NASA gave the green light today to develop the Deep Impact spacecraft, which is designed to help researchers learn more about the nature and structure of comets. It will launch in January 2004, reach the comet 18 months later, and detach a camera to record its own demise and measure the composition of the explosion.
