MOST MASSIVE SPIRAL GALAXY DISCOVERED
-------------------------
A team of European astronomers announced recently that they have discovered the most massive spiral galaxy ever found: designated ISOHDFS 27, it is four times more massive than the Milky Way. The team determined their calculations using ISAAC, an infrared-sensitive, multi-mode instrument on ESO's Very Large Telescope at the Paranal Observatory. This discovery is important to cosmologists, because it shows that very heavy structures had already formed at early stages in the Universe's development.

NEW RESEARCH REOPENS DEBATE ON MARTIAN ROCK
-------------------------
When a Martian meteorite was discovered in 1996 with evidence of possible life, there was a tremendous controversy in the scientific community. A research team has reopened the debate, however, with their discovery of tiny magnetic grains inside the rock, a common waste product of Earth bacteria. Although this discovery provides more evidence that the rock once contained bacteria, the jury is still out on whether it's Martian bacteria.

MIRCORP ANNOUNCES ITS NEW PLANS
-------------------------
As widely rumoured in the media, MirCorp announced the results of its recent board meeting, and its alternate plans to account for the deorbit of the Mir space station early next year. Their current plans include working with Energia (the company that built Mir) to develop a spacecraft capable of docking with space station Alpha, and reorganizing their plans to send people to Alpha instead of Mir. The management team reiterated its promise to implement the plans for its existing customers, including Dennis Tito and NBC's Destination Mir.
