Just a final reminder.

Discovery Channel's INSIDE THE SPACE STATION airs on Sunday, December 10th at 9pm ET/PT. From what I've previewed so far, this is going to be one of the coolest space-related documentaries of this season. And don't worry where you live, it's going to be broadcast on the same day in 150 countries and in 32 languages.

If you're interested in watching the show, click the following link for more information (you can even give your email address to get a reminder). I'll be watching.

* US Government Contract Saves Iridium

SHUTTLE CREW REPAIRS SOLAR PANEL
-------------------------
After a length spacewalk yesterday, the Endeavour astronauts successfully tightened the cables on the solar panel that hadn't extended properly. Even though the panel was generating electricity, the repair ensured that the panel wouldn't get snagged when future shuttles dock. The shuttle astronauts were finally able to enter space station Alpha today, where they delivered Christmas presents to the station astronauts.

US GOVERNMENT CONTRACT SAVES IRIDIUM
-------------------------
The Pentagon awarded a $72 million contract to Iridium Satellite LLC in exchange for unlimited use for 20,000 government users of hand-held satellite telephones. One of the reasons for the contract is the widespread concern in the American public about what would happen if the Iridium satellites were deorbited. A government study estimates that there's a 1 in 10,000 chance of anyone being injured from falling satellites.
