HUBBLE WATCHES A STAR DESTROY A DUST CLOUD
-------------------------
New images taken by the Hubble Space Telescope show a nebula being torn apart as it passes by Merope, one of the brightest stars in the Pleiades star cluster. The scientists who took the images propose that starlight from Merope decelerates some of the dust particles, leaving them behind as the nebula moves past the star. It's unknown whether the nebula will survive this encounter with Merope at all, or be completely disintegrated over time.

ASTRONAUTS PREPARE FOR THIRD SPACEWALK
-------------------------
Astronauts Joe Tanner and Carlos Noriega will make their third trip into space today as they attempt to repair the first solar panel they opened, because it didn't extend properly. Because it isn't taut like the other panel, NASA is worried it could tear or break during future shuttle missions. The hatches between the shuttle and space station Alpha are expected to open on Friday, when the two astronaut crews will shake hands in space for the first time.

NEW CASSINI IMAGES OF JUPITER
-------------------------
Enroute to Saturn, the Cassini spacecraft is currently passing by Jupiter, and delivering some beautiful photographs. The latest taken show an image of Jupiter and Ganymede in the same frame, while a giant storm appears as a blackened bruise on the face of the largest planet in the solar system. Cassini will make its closest pass on December 30th.
