James Waldie, a Research Scholar at UCSD, is looking at new spacesuit models for both intra-vehicular (IVA) and extra-vehicular (EVA) use, to help counteract the debilitating effects of weightlessness on astronauts, and perhaps assist expeditions to the Moon and Mars. A Universe Today Exclusive http://www.universetoday.com/html/special/spacesuit.html SPACEWALKERS CONNECT SOLAR PANELS TO ALPHA ------------------------- On their second spacewalk of this mission, astronauts Joe Tanner and Carlos Noriega connected the power and data cables to space station Alpha's new solar wings. During the 6 hour, 37 minute spacewalk the two men also installed a large dish antenna and prepared the exterior of the station for the addition of the Destiny laboratory module, due to be attached in January. Endeavor is due to return to Earth on December 11th. The launch was delayed several times because of boats in the launch hazard area, and a collection of technical problems.
