* Station Spreads One Wing, Waiting for the Other
* New Plutolike Object Discovered
* Scientists Believe They've Found Evidence of Ancient Lakes on Mars

STATION SPREADS ONE WING, WAITING FOR THE OTHER
-------------------------
The crew of the space shuttle Endeavour docked with the International Space Station on Saturday, and went spacewalking on Sunday to install the station's new giant solar panels. The installation was successful, but when they unfurled the first wing it remained much looser than expected; although, it's still supplying power properly. NASA is holding off extending the second wing until it can determine why the first didn't extend fully. More spacewalks are due next week to further attach the solar panels, and make way for the next module, Destiny, due to arrive in January.

NEW PLUTOLIKE OBJECT DISCOVERED
-------------------------
Astronomers using the University of Arizona's Spacewatch telescope believe they have discovered a new object at the outer reaches of our solar system. The object, temporarily named 2000 WR106, is thought to be roughly half the size of Pluto, and orbits at a distance of 43 astronomical units.

SCIENTISTS BELIEVE THEY'VE FOUND EVIDENCE OF ANCIENT LAKES ON MARS
-------------------------
Industry experts are speculating that NASA scientists are preparing to announce the discovery of sedimentary rock on Mars. Using the Mars Global Surveyor to take high-resolution images of the surface of Mars, the NASA team has identified several outcrops of rock that date back 4.3 to 3.5 billion years ago. Sedimentary rock is generally created on Earth when fine-grained particles are sandwiched in layers by the action of water. So, this discovery could be evidence of ancient lakes on Mars.
