Only 4.8 km across, the moon has been designated S/1999 J1 - once it has been confirmed by other observers, it will be given a more formal name. A followup press release cancelled the conference stating, "the decision was much more complex and difficult than anticipated and that it will take perhaps one to two weeks longer than planned to make the final decision." The star, known as KPD1930+2752, is orbited by a white dwarf star, and the two are expected to collide sometime in the next 200 million years. When they do, the combination will create an explosion visible across the entire Universe. Supernovae of this type are thought to create the heavy materials we find on Earth, including iron and gold. The walls and first floor have been erected, and the team is now working to build the second floor, and attach the roof. The "crew" is expected to move into the station by August 5th.
