I went out around 5:00am PDT and just watched the moon start to darken before it went down over the horizon, then I had to switch back to the computer, and watch it on the Internet like most of view. Oil had leaked inside, and if there had been a spark while the oxygen was turned on, the suit would have burst into flames. It's believed the oil had been building up in all of NASA's ten spacesuits since as longs as 1992. Needless to say, NASA is working to remove the oil and determine the cause. The space weather satellites are replacements for a group lost in an Ariane 5 mishap in 1996. The next two satellites are due to launch August 9th with a similar rocket configuration. Once all four satellites are in orbit, they will fly in formation in an elliptical orbit and gather data on how the solar wind interacts with the Earth's magnetosphere. These new images bring the total to half a million galaxies and 162 million stars. The 2MASS survey uses two highly automated 1.3 meter telescopes to cover the entire sky, taking images very quickly. The 2MASS data has been used by astronomers for many new discoveries, including uncovering some of the coolest brown dwarf stars.
