As the sun is nearing the peak of its 11-year solar cycle, increased activity has the potential of damaging communications system. http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/sci/tech/newsid_411000/411005.stm INDONESIAN SATELLITE READY FOR LAUNCH ------------------------ An Indonesian telecommunications satellite - TELKOM 1 - is ready for liftoff Wednesday at the European Space Agency launch center in Kourou, French Guiana. It will launch on board an Ariane 42P rocket with two solid strap-on boosters.
