This is an image of Mount Usu on the Japanese island of Hokkaido. This image was taken by NASA's Terra satellite. It was the 7th major eruption from Mount Usu in the past 300 years. During this eruption in 2000, people were evacuated from the region, but there was no explosive eruption.
This is a picture of the Colima Volcano in Mexico. The volcano erupted in 2002, spewing lava and hot rocks into the air.
This is a picture of the eruption of Chikurachki Volcano, in the Kuril Islands. This image was taken in May, 2003 during one of the volcano's eruptions.
