This beautiful image of the Orion nebula was captured by Vasco Soeiro in the skies of Alentejo, Portugal. The image was generated through his observations from December 27, 2011 to January 27, 2012.
“In this picture a broadband filter was used to mitigate light pollution and a narrowband (H-alpha) in order to improve the red channel. It is also a picture in High Dynamic Range (HDR) to desaturate the trapezoid area.”
