Moon And Saturn. Credit: Jeff Swick

This photo of the Moon and Saturn is the very first astrophoto captured by Jeff Swick of Canada.

“That was taken with an 8″ reflector and an old Sony digital camera that I just held up to the eye piece. I remember I had a filter on the telescope as a filter kit came with my accessory package and I was experimenting.”

Check out Jeff’s Flickr page for more photos.

This must be a composite, right?.. and perhaps the 12/31/05 date is a confused memory?
The Moon was “new” on that date and Saturn far away in a different part of the sky.
