This photo of Venus, Saturn and Mars forming a star trail pattern was captured by Wienie van der Oord. She took this photo in her backyard at the KM101 eastern Negev desert in Israel in September 2010.
Since the Earth rotates, celestial objects also tend to move from our point of view. Stars and planets form star trail patterns when photographed at long exposures.
Wienie captured this photo using a Canon Rebel camera at ISO 400 and 15 minutes exposure.
