Space Agencies

NASA

There are many space agencies around the world. Some, like NASA and the Russian Space Agency, tend to do the recognizable things like launch space shuttles and man the International Space Station(ISS). Others are cast in supporting roles as their budgets allow. All have made contributions to science in different ways. Many have had astronauts on the ISS.

Here on Universe Today we have grouped together a list of links about space agencies around the globe. Those links are below. Before you jump into those links, here are a few fun and interesting facts for you to consider.

NASA was not the first American space agency, though it did engulf its predecessor.

Space Agencies

ESA

There are 19 countries that comprise the European Space Agency(ESA). In addition, each country has its own space agency.

The ESA can launch larger payloads into space than NASA can. Do you know why?

China was the third nation to send astronauts into space in 2003. That is not to say other countries had not sent astronauts before that, they just hitched rides from the U.S or Russia. China sent its own astronauts in vehicles of their manufacture.

The Soviet space programs has a plan for a robot controlled Moon base in 2015 which will be taken over by humans in 2027.

There are space agencies in every major world power. India has launched many of its own satellites and other missions, Japan has as well. China continues to improve its technologies. It is just a matter of money before Latin America moves into the race. Hopefully, you will be able to find everything you are looking for in the links below and , as always, enjoy your research.
