About Astrobiology

About AstrobiologyScientists are convinced that there must be life on other planets. So much so, that a career filed has been developed that is dedicated to the study of it. Astrobiology is a conglomeration of many areas of study. It is the study of all aspects of life in the Universe; its origin, evolution, distribution, and future. The field was legitimized my NASA when studies were done searching for life on the Moon.

Researching astrobiology could take quite a while if you were just plugging away in the search engines, so we have assembled a page full of links to articles about astrobiology to help shorten your search. We also know that it can be difficult to jump into a set of links without some knowledge of what to expect. Here are a few interesting facts about astrobiology to wet your appetite.

SETI has been looking for evidence of alien life for decades.

The Fermi Paradox basically says that if there is life in the Universe we would have found evidence, since we haven’t found any evidence that in itself is evidence that there may not be life in the Universe.

Despite the lack of evidence, the greatest scientific minds on our planet believe that alien life exists and that we are too scientifically awkward to detect it at this time.

These are just a few of the interesting facts that you can find in the links below. There is more information about each one of these as well. It is the hope of the entire Universe Today team that you are able to find what you are looking for and, as always, enjoy your research.
