Here’s another amazing photo of a solar eclipse captured by the Hinode satellite in July 2009. Hinode, formerly known as Solar-B, is a collaborative project between Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), Particle Physics and Astronomy Research Council (PPARC) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
Here’s a picture of the 30 Doradus Nebula located in the nearby Large Magellanic Cloud. This view was observed by NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope’s Cosmic Origins Spectrograph (COS). Stars are also visible in the photo. These stars were believed to come from the giant star cluster R136.
This is an infrared image of the DR21 star nursery. This photo was taken by the NASA’s Spitzer Space Telescope. Normally without infrared, the stars in this nursery cannot be seen due to space dust.
This is a stunning image of a supernova remnant N49. This photo was generated using the images gathered by the Hubble space Telescope, Spitzer Space Telescope and Chandra X-Ray Observatory.
Color Mosaic of Olympus Mons on Mars
This is a color image of the Olympus Mons on Mars taken by the Viking 1 Orbiter on June 22, 1978. Olympus Mons is the tallest known volcano and mountain in the solar system standing at 27 kilometers above mean sea level.
