The Birth of Stars
Here’s an image of an amazing star birth at the spiral galaxy M83, also known as the Southern Pinwheel. This image was taken by the Wide Field Camera 3 (WFC3) installed on the Hubble Space Telescope.
Hot, Young Stars
The image you can see above is the photo of the Westerlund 2, a young star cluster taken by the Chandra X-ray Observatory. Westerlund 2, approximately one or two million years of age is located in the Milky Way galaxy.
Dusty Stellar Nursery Revealed
This is an infrared image of the DR21 star nursery. This photo was taken by the NASA’s Spitzer Space Telescope. Normally without infrared, the stars in this nursery cannot be seen due to space dust.
Supernova Remnant Menagerie
This is a nice view of the N 63A as seen by the Hubble Space Telescope. The N 63A is located at the Large Magellanic Cloud galaxy.
Our Neighbor Andromeda
This is a nice picture of the Andromeda galaxy taken by the NASA’s Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer, or WISE Telescope. The Andromeda galaxy is located 2.5 million light-years from our sun.
