This image of the Panama Canal Rainforest was taken by Landsat 7 on March 2000. Rainforests are characterized by high annual rainfall of atleast 2,000 mm.

Here’s an image of East Kalimantan, Indonesia which was once a rainforest but had shown the effects of deforestation by humans. This image was captured from the International Space Station on November 1985 during the STS-61A mission.

This photo shows the deforested portions of the Amazon River Basin in the state of Rondonia, Brazil. This image was taken on June 1985 during the STS-51G mission to the International Space Station. The Amazon Rainforest covers 70% of Rondonia.
