This spectacular image of the International Space Station above the vast Ionian Sea. This image was taken by a crew member of the space shuttle Endeavour during the STS-118 mission on November 27, 2007.

Here’s a stunning image of the Sinai Peninsula and the Mediterranean Sea as seen from the space shuttle Atlantis. A crew member of the STS-125 mission took this photo during the mission’s first flight in space.

This is an image of the Mediterranean Sea taken on May 1991 during the STS-39 mission to space. Technically, the Mediterranean Sea is a part of the Atlantic Ocean as this is directly connected to the ocean. It has an average depth of 1,500 meters.

Here’s an image of the Red Sea taken on November 1985 during the STS-61A mission to space. Red Sea is located between the continents of Africa and Asia. The hostile Denakil Desert can also be seen in the image above.

Ariake Sea, Kyushu, Japan

Ariake Sea, Kyushu, Japan

This image of the Ariake Sea in Kyushu, Japan was taken from the Space Shuttle on April 27, 1998 during the STS-90 mission. Ariake Sea is the largest bay in the Kyushu Island bordered by the Fukuoka, Saga, Nagasaki, and Kumamoto Prefectures.
