Atlantis Breaks Through the Clouds

This image of the space shuttle Atlantis emerging above the clouds during its launch on November 16, 2009 for the STS-129 mission to the International Space Station. Atlantis is one of the three functional space shuttle orbiters of NASA.

First Launch from Cape Canaveral

This image features the first launch of a space rocket in Cape Canaveral, Florida. The first rocket launched in Florida is the Bumper 2 which happened on July 1950.

Space, Horizon, Endeavour

Here’s an image of the space shuttle Endeavour docked to the International Space Station. You can see how the atmosphere at the Earth’s horizon fades slowly into the blackness of space.
