This photo of Oahu Island in Hawaii was taken in September 1988 from the International Space Station. Oahu ranks third among the islands of Hawaii and the most important being the headquarters of the United States Pacific Command and the Pearl Harbor Naval Complex.

Here’s a nice view of the earth obtained by the Apollo 8 mission on December 29, 1968. The Apollo 8 mission is the first human spaceflight mission to leave the Earth’s orbit.

Here’s a nice image of the earth in crescent. This image was taken by the Optical Spectroscopic and Infrared Remote Imaging System (OSIRIS) camera flying on board the Rosetta spacecraft in November 2007.

This image of the tropical storm Gustav located west of Jamaica was taken from the International Space Station on August 29, 2008. Tropical Storm Gustav was has recorded a maximum sustained wind of 155 mph.
