This amazing photo of Mt. Everest and the adjacent Mount Makalu was captured from the International Space Station on January 28, 2004 during the Expedition 8 mission. Mt. Everest is the highest mountain on Earth with a height of 8,848 meters above sea level.

Here’s an image of Mt. Everest taken from the International Space Station on March 20, 2002 by Astronaut Dan Bursch of Expedition 4. Mt. Everest is also known as Qomolangma Peak in Tibetan, Mount Sagarmatha in Nepali, Chajamlungma in Limbu, and Zhumulangma Peak in Chinese.

This image of Mt. Everest was captured on October 1993 by astronauts from the International Space Station during the STS-58 mission of the Space Shuttle Columbia. STS-58 mission was dedicated to life science researches.
