Here are some cool atmosphere pictures. You can make any of these atmosphere images into your computer desktop wallpaper. Just click on an image to enlarge it, and then choose “Set as Desktop Background”.
This breathtaking image of the sunset on earth was captured from the International Space Station by an Expedition 13 astronaut in August 10, 2006. Expedition 13 mission was able to accomplish a total of 2,886 orbits.
This photo of the earth’s atmosphere during sunset was taken during the STS-67 mission of the space shuttle Endeavour on March 2, 1995, the same day it was launched.
The image you can see above features polar mesospheric clouds. This image was captured by an STS-117 mission astronaut from the International Space Station on June 2007. Polar mesospheric clouds are also known as noctilucent clouds.
Here’s an image of the space shuttle Endeavor backdropped by the breathtaking image of the earth’s atmosphere. This image was captured from the International Space Station by a crew member of Expedition 22 during the most recent space shuttle mission, STS-130 on February 9, 2010.
This beautiful view of the eye of Hurricane Emily and the moon was captured from the International Space Station in July 16, 2005. Hurricane Emily is a Category 5 hurricane having a maximum wind speed of 160 mph.
