When NASA’s Magellan Spacecraft visited Venus, it captured the highest resolution images ever taken of our twin planet. Magellan was equipped with a radar instrument which allowed it to peer through the thick clouds that obscure Venus and reveal the landscape of the planet. This was the first time that we could actually see the ancient volcanoes, lava flows and impact craters.
This acrylic Venus globe is based on the data gathered by the Magellan spacecraft. It measures 12 inches across and is made out of acrylic plastic. It also comes with a 16-page booklet about Venus.

We’ve written many articles about Venus for Universe Today. Here’s an article about the atmosphere of Venus, and here’s an article about volcanoes on Venus.
