Classify this under news of the weird. A Russian scientist claims that aliens downed the Tunguska meteorite 101 years ago to protect our planet from devastation. Yuri Lavbin says he found unusual quartz crystals at the site of the massive Siberian explosion. Ten crystals have holes in them, placed so the stones can be united in a chain, and other have drawings on them. “We don’t have any technologies that can print such kind of drawings on crystals,” said Lavbin. “We also found ferrum silicate that can not be produced anywhere, except in space.”

OK, just a few holes in this story, too.

The Tunguska Event was a powerful explosion that occurred in an uninhabited and desolate area near the Tunguska River in Russia, on June 30, 1908. Although the cause of the explosion is the subject of debate, it is commonly believed to have been caused by the explosion of a large meteoroid or comet fragment, occurring the in Earth’s atmosphere about 5–10 kilometers (3–6 miles) high. The blast flattened an estimated 60 million trees over 2,150 square kilometers, but no crater or “smoking gun” meteorite has ever been found. Different studies have yielded varying estimates of the object’s size, but there is general agreement that it was a few tens of meters across.

A couple of expeditions have gone to the remote site of the crash. Lavbin says that one expedition located the unusual crystals.

While I’m not a chemist, I couldn’t find any information on “ferrum silicate.” Seemingly, it doesn’t exist.

One small, nondescript photo accompanied Lavbin’s claims, published by the Macedonian International News Agency.

This isn’t the first time a UFO has been claimed to associated with the Tunguska event. Another report from 2004 said a scientific expedition to the site found blocks of an extraterrestrial technical device, and one 50-kilogram piece of the stone was brought to the city of Krasnoyarsk to be studied and analyzed. No subsequent reports or analysis could be located during an internet search.

Other claims of exploding alien spaceships or alien weapons detonating to “save the Earth from an imminent threat” appear to originate from a science fiction story “A Visitor From Outer Space” written by Soviet engineer Alexander Kazantsev in 1946, in which a nuclear-powered Martian spaceship, seeking fresh water from a lake blew up in mid-air. This story was was said to be inspired by Kazantsev’s visit to Hiroshima in late 1945.

Many events in Kazantsev’s tale were subsequently confused with the actual occurrences at Tunguska. A “reveal-all” book was published in 1976 (The Fire Came By) but was written by two television drama critics — so much for a scientific background. In 1998 the television series The Secret KGB UFO Files was broadcast on Turner Network Television, and referred to the Tunguska event as “the Russian Roswell” and claimed that crashed UFO debris had been recovered from the site.

However, not one proponent of the Tunguska/UFO hypothesis have ever been able to provide any significant evidence for their claims.

Lavbin says the stones, when put together form a map, and might be part of a navigational system of a spaceship.

But Lavbin says what proves his hypothesis is a strange portrait of a strange person on one of the stones.

Hmm, strange looking person on a stone….sounds like….pareidolia. Check out the Bad Astronomer’s take on that phenomenon.

Just as in any other UFO claim, this one fails to deliver any evidence.

Homeworld RULED. I never finished it, but that was a FUN GAME. And the backstory in the manual was some darn-tootin’ good writing.

    ND,

Read “Alien Agenda” by Jim Marrs. He is a credible author that first made his name through the research that he did on the Kennedy assassination. His similar claims about extraterrestrial intervention throughout history are similarly well-documented.

The Soviets apparently called the Vatican when they saw the last frames that Phobos 2 shot before going silent…

  • ND

    Jim Krug,

Riiiiiight. I’ll by that for a depreciated US dollar.

And where can I find these last photos of Phobos 2?

  • ND

I found the Phobos 2 images. The color ones are pretty neat. No images of alien spacecraft.

    1. The link you posted doesn’t work.

    2. I can’t help but wonder how strongly someone feels about their own beliefs if they aren’t willing to read anything that runs counter to them.

I’m sure people felt much the same way as you did when asked if they buy a copy of De Revolutionibus…

  • aspaceyguy

It does appear that Yuri Lavbin and Valery Uvarov are not necessarily ‘comrades’ but nonetheless they are both conveying similar themes.
What I find interesting is the tendency in articles at this website, to push the woowoo label…. even on research by recognized specialists, from outside the United States. Theories or hypothesis are often evolving and fine tuned as work is done. So this premise here about Tunguska will too as the insiders disclose what they really have. So much in all areas seem to be embargoed and locked up from the general pool of semi-public knowledge. Lets not be so quick to sneer at Lavbin’s premise. Seems a little unprofessional to me.

Remember too Valery Uvarov is the head of the Department of UFO Research, Palaeosciences and Palaeotechnology of the National Security Academy of Russia.

None of these people are ‘light weights’ tossing up woowoo fantasy.

  • Jim Krug

    aspaceyguy,

Great point. Sometimes I think it’s ironic how we look back throughout history at the resistance to thinkers like Aristarchus and Galileo and think “how could they not have known that these guys were right?”

…Then we turn around and do the same exact thing to scientists that bring unconventional viewpoints forward.

  • ND

    Jim Krug,

    1) you will need to copy and paste the urls to work. then show me the alien object in the photos.

I looked at the photos and there was nothing there that indicated any alien spacecrafts. There were however streaks that are artifacts created by the camera.

    2) it’s not about belief but evidence. You said the Phobos 2 photos showed the alien object that destroyed Phobos 2. The pictures show no such thing.

Have you considered the possibility that not everything you read is actually true or accurate?

  • Jim Krug

    ND,

Again, copy and pasted into the address bar, and this is what I get:

Warning: Unknown(/home/zoom/_CONTENT/_error/404.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/zoom/_php/template_machine_explore.php(126) : eval()’d code on line 52

So because I cannot get your link to work, and you clearly refuse to buy the book, I searched and found a picture similar to what appears in the book, minus the explanation (Tereshkova is shown at right).

    http://www.colinandrews.net/sitebuilder/images/PhobosUFO_USSRConsolatePres-649×516.jpg

And yes, I have considered that not everything I read is actually true or accurate, but I fear that you have not done the same.

  • ND

Well I copy and pasted the links from my own post and they were. They are two separate links btw, one per line. And that photo being held up in your link is on there. I assume the white streak is supposed to be the alien object. It’s actually just a white streak, nothing alien about it.

  • Jim Krug

Yeah because random white streaks are common in outer space. Geez…….I thought you’d at least go with the “lens flare” angle.

Keep in mind that the image is just one from a series of images taken by the Phobos 2 prior to losing contact with Earth.

Again, I’d suggest reading the excerpt from the book I mentioned to you. It really is quite fascinating, as Marrs is considered a fairly reputable author, despite the “taboo-ness” of the topics he researches.

Keep in mind that when he first advocated a conspiracy to eliminate President Kennedy (Oliver Stone based the movie JFK on his book “Crossfire”) it was criticized as well. Yet in hindsight, he ended up being decades ahead of his time.

  • ND

    Jim,

That white streak is not an object in space. Is there anything to that white streak that says it’s an alien craft or object? Can you make out any details that’s convincing that it’s an artificial, non-earth object? it’s just a white streak. Bright points of light can cause streaks when they saturate the pixels in detector such as CCDs. This is common. If you go to the planetery.org pages with the phobos photos you’ll see that those streaks are perfectly vertical along the pixels of the image.

And Marss’ take on the JFK assassination has nothing to do with this. Whatever he’s right or wrong about that does not prove anything when it comes to Phobos 2. It’s a completely different story.

  • Jim Krug

    1. I agree. From the singular picture itself, one can certainly not prove that it is an extraterrestrial craft. No arguments there.

But when you couple the picture with a former astronaut’s very open testimony, and the fact the picture was but one of many taken by the probe before it was destroyed, I believe it becomes much more credible.

    2. And Marrs’ take on the JFK incident is very relevant. The point I was trying to make was that when he came out with that book, it was rather controversial. But in hindsight, we realized it was simply ahead of its time.

I believe much the same could be said for events like this.

  • ND

“But when you couple the picture with a former astronaut’s very open testimony,”

The cosmonaut could be wrong. If all we have are the photos and there is nothing definitive in those photos then how did this cosmonaut come to the conclusion? You have to look at the evidence. The photos are publicly available and how many scientists, engineers and astronauts/cosmonauts are saying this is an alien object? It would be a groundbreaking discovery.

There are a lot of intelligent people out there that believe in wacky stuff that can easily be disproven. Scientists and engineers are not immune to such things.

” and the fact the picture was but one of many taken by the probe before it was destroyed, I believe it becomes much more credible.”

Timing is only important after you’ve shown that the photos have captured an alien object. There is nothing in any of the Phobos 2 photos that even hint at an alien civilization.

And believe me, I believe that there is at least one other intelligent civilization somewhere in our galaxy. I have no evidence obviously. But I’m not against ET intelligence.

  • CraigRLang

When saying that there is no proof of UFOs, the question to you need to answer is, proof of WHAT about UFOs?
Are you saying that there is no proof of the existence of unexplained events occurring in the sky, or are you saying that there is no proof of an extraterrestrial origin for them?

That at least some UFO events are unexplained is already well proven. Read the Sturrock report for details on that.
Any claims regarding their origin, however, – well, that’s another question – IMHO a very open one.

    Thanx,

Ironic yes indeed…and some will come from left field…like a Wayne Herschel, and the academics do cry, until truth compounds enough on their faces that denial just can’t hold up anymore.
On Topic with this article, as these various ‘scientists’ and/or researchers put themselves ‘out there’ to share their focus, there will come a point where the real disclosure Ateam will outweigh the Bteam’s mandate to denial and concealment. Has the critical mass been almost reached?
A lot is already out. One need just do a little homework and much of it is in plain sight now.
Just Dr Stephen Greer’s work and the testimony of about 500 people to Congress nails the truth about the ET presence and the artifacts of ancient technology and present examples of true UFO’s. Done Deal. Sworn under Oath. High level servants of the Government and Military amongst others.
This is not the fluff of various peddlers on the net. They are real people who were involved and their testimony is on the record now.
My own father chased a bonafide UFO in about 1955 as fighter pilot with the RCAF over the St Lawrence.

So, the enigma of Tunguska is not being casually described…..by the likes of Yuri Lavbin or of some similarity by Valery Uvarov. Valery has outright disclosed intimate knowledge of evidence in the Camelot interview..

Automated ancient technology or current benevolent intervention? I am sure we will know more soon.

    My final thought.
As we so gently are brought to realize there is water pretty much everywhere… we are then to see that/how life comes with it.
… And from there we are brought to realize the age of things and just how very very long all this has been going on,
… and just how young we really are.

    hmm…thats a really interesting alternative theory….

  • aspaceyguy

Here is the part of the ‘opening’.

    http://www.ufodigest.com/parliament.html

“Former Canadian Minister of Defence and Deputy Prime Minister under Pierre Trudeau has joined forces with three Non-governmental organizations to ask the Parliament of Canada to hold public hearings on Exopolitics — relations with “ETs”.

“On September 25, 2005, in a startling speech at the University of Toronto that caught the attention of mainstream newspapers and magazines, Paul Hellyer, Canada’s Defence Minister from 1963-67 under Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Prime Minister Lester Pearson, publicly stated: “UFOs, are as real as the airplanes that fly over your head.”

Mr. Hellyer went on to say, “I’m so concerned about what the consequences might be of starting an intergalactic war, that I just think I had to say something.”

Hellyer revealed, “The secrecy involved in all matters pertaining to the Roswell incident was unparalled. The classification was, from the outset, above top secret, so the vast majority of U.S. officials and politicians, let alone a mere allied minister of defence, were never in-the-loop.”

Hellyer warned, “The United States military are preparing weapons which could be used against the aliens, and they could get us into an intergalactic war without us ever having any warning. He stated, “The Bush administration has finally agreed to let the military build a forward base on the moon, which will put them in a better position to keep track of the goings and comings of the visitors from space, and to shoot at them, if they so decide.”

Hellyer’s speech ended with a standing ovation. He said, “The time has come to lift the veil of secrecy, and let the truth emerge, so there can be a real and informed debate, about one of the most important problems facing our planet today.”

How about them apples. That is the fruit of real truth from people of authentic involvement. Don’t get me started on Dr. Ed Mitchell…..and the list goes on.
