He was only 27, dying from colon cancer.Just the other week I was commenting in the Carl Sagan post that it seemed a cruel thing that nature saw fit to take from us such a talent at such a young age; that the world would be robbed of truly great things solely due to his passing. I cannot help but think that this lad would have also gone on to far greater heights, and that the world will miss out on great things because of his passing also.As with all who contribute to science, knowledge and art though, he will be remembered by many by &amp; for his work, and doubtless for far more than that by those who knew him personally.</description> <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>His works are indeed astounding by any measure, let alone someone who was so young.
