what i found the most interesting about this particular exercise was apparently the 2008 peak activity predictions were about 3-4 hours off on both sides of the mark.  for the united states, they really hit the east and mid-west around 4:00 am locally on the morning of the 12th and then tapered off as we continued to turn into the stream - only to re-surge again hours later in europe!

Right, I think its time to take this Google Earth thing seriously and see what it can do! Hey, after some more research, you should write a paper on the subject? ;-) Hmmm, now that&#039;s a thought...
