I've been trying to figure out how to download the What's Up 2007 410 Pages of PDFs. The link to download page doesn't appear to get me anywhere near what I'm expecting to see. I'm interested in downloading the entire book. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Tammy, bring back the What's Up! I miss them. At the same time the novice magazine (I hate to say I forget it's name) stopped publishing too. There's nothing to get us novices into the groove!

good morning, ghadzoox!

sorry to be so late in replying. my observatory hosted a very large star party this weekend and i've been out of touch.

unfortunately, there really aren't good and accessible resources aimed directly at the novice skywatcher... how about if i correct that? i'll be happy to leave in established observing information - but also add less formal instructions and descriptions as well.

sounds like fun to me!

Tammy - I really enjoy reading your Weekend SkyWatcher's Forcast. It's exciting just thinking about what's waiting up there to be observed. Interested in astronomy for many years, other than lying on my back in the grass, I'm an observational noob.

I recently acquired a pair of 10-22x50 binoculars. I've found, looking closer at the SkyWatcher Forcasts, that I have no idea how to orient myself in the sky. For instance, assuming Polaris is north in the sky, what is the reference for determining east/west? I kinda/sorta get RA & Dec, but more detail there would help. I don't really understand magnitude, degrees, arcminutes, etc. in any detail.

Is there a SkyWatcher's beginner's guide that you can recommend, here on UniverseToday or elsewhere?

Thanks!
