		<description>In an interview on NPR a couple of years ago, Steve Squyres was asked why they didn&#039;t have &quot;windshield wipers&quot; on the solar cells.  He said they had considered it, but the extra weight would have cost too much.  There is always a tradeoff between weight and cost in spacecraft launches.</description>
