To be honest i think we should have stuck with the Saturn V …. yes the Shuttle is great vessel but the Saturn V can still out lift it …. as to regression the LM is still a great way to go to the moon as a Shuttle type craft can’t “land” there yet

So we are really going back to spam in a can? This just feels like a step backwards. I haven’t done the research so I won’t pretend to know, but other than what I perceive as a safer, more cost effective way to put people into space, what are the benefits of doing it this way?

With Fuel Prices where they are, it will be more expensive to move the launch vehicle than to actually launch a spacecraft.

Personally, I am sort of disenchanted with the design and appearance of the craft. almost forty years in the future from the Apollo Missions and we are using what looks like essentially the same floor plan?

With all of the Ideas being floated and technology at our disposal, it seems ridiculous that we really are no further ahead than we are. Granted, I am certain that there is an incredible amount of innovation going into the design but it looks like the same machine we had forty years ago.

Is the Space Shuttle really that much of a beater? Can we not build an updated version of it with expanded capability?

First flight 2020?? Or is that the landing on the Moon???
Think I’ll take up train spotting at least something happens there…
If NASA/USA ain’t careful they’ll be going through Chinese Customs on the moon…
