Win a Copy of Buzz Aldrin’s Book, Mission to Mars

Buzz Aldrin, celebrated Apollo astronaut and an outspoken champion for the pursuit of space exploration, is on a mission. He has written a new book titled “Mission to Mars.” While the title focuses on Mars, the book covers much more. Buzz lays out his goals for the space program and how he believes we can get humans to Mars by the 2030s. He makes the case and argues passionately for pushing our boundaries of knowledge and exploration of our solar system and presents his “unified space vision.” He emphasizes space exploration should not be a competition, but with cooperation a stronger path to a sustainable future in space could be forged.

  1. I wonder, have the publishers and Mr. Aldrin possibly discussed any book signing opportunities?

I think it’s a timely work, considering the proposal by Inspiration Mars for a crewed flyby of Mars, as soon as 2018, and considering the developments in private aerospace firms such as Bigelow and SpaceX. In this era of NewSpace industry development, I think it’s also profoundly significant that the original pioneers would endeavor to continue to inform the discussion of their long experience and expertise, moreover.

Not to present the matter as if it was any kind of a contest between institutional space exploration and privatized opportunities, I think that it might not be so “Far off,” though, plainly. If the Inspiration Mars proposal gets a “Go,” then – in a manner reminiscent of the Apollo missions previous to the historic Apollo 11 landing – a crew could be flying to Mars and back, as soon as 2018, then informing the development of a crewed landing on the red planet.

    1. As soon as 2018 a crew fly by to Mars? I doubt that. As much as you, I, & most of the scientific world desire it, I highly doubt it. Other wise Sean, great outlook & very well said. . ..take care.

  2. Great book of fiction just like the movie “We did go to the moon”…… Part of the series the Science Mafia strikes again…
